About Our Group

Started on August 28, 2006, the san diego modo user group became the first ever officially sanctioned Luxology modo user group.

On October 4, 2006, the san diego modo user group became an official Special Interest Group (SIG) of the San Diego Macintosh User Group (SDMUG). Although membership in SDMUG is encouraged, it is not required and PC and Mac users are equally welcome in the modo SIG.

The san diego modo user group meets on the 4th Monday of every month (except December due to holidays). The meetings are held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Crywolf Computers (7634 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92111, Phone: (858) 277-9653).

Meetings feature educational presentations on a variety of topics of interest to 3D artists, design engineers and hobbyists. Most of these focus directly on aspects of using Luxology's modo. However, sometimes other products are demonstrated as they integrate with and/or enhance the modo workflow.

Usually the san diego modo user group members are encouraged to do presentations of their projects and techniques using modo and related tools. Other times outside presenters are brought in (either in-person, live via web-cast/teleconference or on prerecorded videos). Always there is time to show and tell, ask questions, get answers and enjoy socializing with fellow 3D enthusiasts.

The value of people networking should not be underestimated as it can lead to business opportunities as well as improving skills, having fun and making new friends. If you have a passion for 3D computer graphics, and you live in the San Diego area, please don't miss this opportunity to get together and share with fellow artists/engineers!
